Niko Shefer earned his Master’s degree at New York University, considered one of the world’s most influential research universities. It is among the top 32 universities in the world, and operates educational institutions around the globe. NYU Abu Dhabi, NYU Shanghai and eleven other global academic institutions have produced 37 Nobel Laureates, 30 Pulitzer Prize winners, over 30 Academy Award winners and a plethora of members of the National Academies of Sciences. Niko Shefer continued his academic studies in English Literature in pursuit of a Doctoral Degree at the University of Paris. Known as the Sorbonne, the prestigious University of Paris was born in association with the church school of the Notre Dame de Paris sometime around 1150. Chartered by King Philip II of France in 1200, the institution was nicknamed Sorbonne for its partner institution for theology, the College of the Sorbonne. The Sorbonne has been known for its academic standards in the humanities since the Middle Ages, and Shefer joined a distinguished alumnus throughout the ages. Popes, royals, scientists, democratic leaders and intellectuals have been educated at the University of Paris. Niko Shefer’s choice of the University of Paris for his Doctoral studies took him to a global university with deep roots in the Middle Ages. The University of Paris established the Paris-Sorbonne University for the study of the humanities at its beginnings, and it was in the company of university director and well-known tycoon, that Shefer became a seasoned academic.
Niko Shefer is an English Literature professor at the University in South Africa. He has long been a lover of the written word and the English language.
As a student and professor of literature, he learned several languages during his academic career, including French and Spanish.
